60 This lab is a continuation of the examination of the blood smear and an introduction to the differential leukocyte count as performed on a blood smear in order to identify the various types of white blood cells that are found in circulating blood. This lab addresses the following Veterinary Technology Student Essential and Recommended Skills List as set forth by the AVMA-CVTEA in Appendix I, Section 6: laboratory Procedures Specimen Analysis to include: ✓ White cell count ✓ Perform leukocyte differential – normal vs. abnormal ✓ Estimate platelet numbers ✓ Calculate absolute values
