With the quantity of internet-connected devices increasing and as IoT (Internet of Things) is gaining popularity, the degree of data and information collected by IoT sensors is incredibly high and needs large amounts of resources for processing and analysing the data. Edge processing permits the sensor data to be processed nearer to its source. But, resource constraints of edge computing give rise to new obstacles for regular data storage, transmission, and protection. This paper performs a survey on various implementations and researches made by professionals and institutions to analyse this innovative alternative. We also propose the utilization of a blockchain- based localized application to modify IoT edge processing. With this setup, we generate the possibility for a resource owner to hitch the system and to lend the computer resources as per requirement. The paper aims to depict the advantages of an integrated system of blockchain and edge-based offers over a network without blockchain. We aim to improve the security factor of transactions carried out on the edge network, reduce the utilization of computational power and increase scalability. The survey performed by the authors is focused on learning the advantages and drawbacks of this choice. Implementation of this framework is demonstrated using IOTA- a non-profit open-source technology organization and Tangle. Tangle is a distributed, open and scalable ledger, it supports frictionless data and transfer of value.
