Given that most English word forms have more than one meaning, the ability to use contextual cues for disambiguation is vital for successful comprehension. Previous research suggests that there is substantial variability in the efficacy with which individuals pick up on and use cues in the surrounding context to aid language processing. In the present study, we introduce a novel, browser-based picture-selection task to measure disambiguation skills in adults that is quick and easy to administer remotely. We present pilot data from N=50 participants and provide preliminary evidence that the task can be used as a valid and reliable measure of disambiguation skill.
