Smart Applications of Big Data and Blockchain

This chapter elucidates different concepts where big data and blockchain can be applied. The first section discusses benefits and challenges related to big data, followed by challenges that arise due to big data's uncertain nature. After overcoming the challenges, to completely leverage big data, one of the ways is to integrate it with Business Intelligence. Instead of obtaining a separate Business Intelligence system, many businesses can integrate big data with Business Intelligence. Blockchain is another technology that can be combined with big data. Before going into depth about combining big data with blockchain, the applications of blockchain in Bitcoin and Cybersecurity are discussed. They are using big data and blockchain in e-governance, healthcare, personal big data management, cryptocurrency, and blockchain in fog-enabled IoT devices. Finally, integrating big data with blockchain is studied in five different concepts.
