Creation of an application under MapBasic for the drive test reports automation in cellular networks

Telecommunications networks have a very important impact in our society. In order to best satisfy the needs and interests of customers, it is imperative to ensure the proper functioning of the network, that’s why operators provide the best services to offer subscribers a good quality of communication. It is within this framework that the problems of planning and optimizing cellular networks are addressed. This paper aims to optimize the radio part of 2G/3G/LTE networks, by creating a macro developed under Mapbasic to extract figures that represent the distribution of radio coverage and radio link quality in a geographical map. These figures are obtained by classifying the samples recorded during the drive test operation, then exported by TEMS Investigation in order to display and process them in the SIG Mapinfo software. This macro allows you to generate reports after the analysis of the drive test operation. One example of applications assisted by our macro is applied in the network operator - Algeria, and which is applied in the GSM network for cluster site after swap operation. The validation of the results obtained confirms the effectiveness of our developed tool.
