Automatic Hand Gesture Recognition System using Raspberry Pi

This undertaking’s principle objective is to shed some light on deaf and dumb people facing communication difficulties. Various methodologies have been introduced in hand gesture recognition, yet at the same time, research is limited. This paper mainly focuses on the automatic hand gesture recognition system in real-time using a powerful compact, yet resource constraints device called Raspberry pi. We have used the Pi 3B+ model. We have trained the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) to recognize the hand gesture. In this, we created a python script to take our trained model and then recognize hand gestures in real-time. We used Intel Movidius Neural Compute Stick to achieve an accuracy of 99% in executing it, along with the low computational cost.
