Machine Learning based Efficient Facial Expression Recognition Algorithm

Face expressions are the essential part of social communication. As the technology advances, there is a need of automated system which can recognize facial expressions with good accuracy. This research aims to develop a machine learning based system that can detect the human facial expressions by considering different database images. On the basis of provided datasets, the system can be able to easily integrate various features such as facial expression recognition, face detection, and classification of expression. It can detect and categorize facial expressions based on their basic characteristics. Basic facial expressions which are recognized by the proposed algorithm are angry, disgust, fear, happy, neutral, sad and surprise.
