Research on Beamspace Adaptive Digital Beamforming Algorithm and FPGA Implementation

Full adaptive digital beamforming (ADBF) has high adaptive degree of freedom (ADOF), but when the number of array elements is large, the amount of calculation is large and the convergence is slow. To balance the contradiction between ADOF and algorithm complexity, the algorithm implementation of two-dimensional array adaptive minimum variance distortionless response digital beamformer based on beamspace is given. Then the hardware structure and signal processing flow of the processing system are introduced, and the detailed FPGA module design is given. Finally, computer simulation and FPGA verification results show that the beamspace ADBF algorithm can achieve good performance under the computational complexity that can be realized in engineering, and has high engineering application value.
