Biometric access to mobiles in pipeline

A number of biometric access systems for mobile phones are in the pipeline. Apple has filed patents for biometric access to its iphone that may include heartbeat recognition, according to news agency Reuters. Filed in February and made public recently, the patent is reported to describe an invention that uses several methods to detect unauthorised usage of a device, such as voice and facial recognition or a heart rate monitor.
