A Special Objective for Cineradiography

British Journal of Radiology · 1934

As is made abundantly clear in the present issue, the problems of cineradiography are largely concerned with obtaining an image of a fluorescent screen in a very short time. Owing to the small luminosity of even the best screens under the action of X rays, it is essential to use a lens to form the image which gathers as much light as possible and focusses it on to the moving film. A special lens has been designed by Messrs. Zeiss for this purpose which surpasses all other lenses obtainable commercially and is known as the R-Biotar 1 : 0.85.
