Efficient.and.reliable.propagation.practices.are.necessary. to.supply.the.millions.of.plants.required.annually.by.the. green. industry.. Practices. used. by. nurseries. and. greenhouses.were.developed.through.research.projects.aimed.at. pursuing.ideas.that.optimized.propagation.and/or.solved. specific. problems. associated. with. propagating. plants.. From.these.ideas,.planned.experiments.were.developed.in. which. treatments. were. devised. and. tested. in. controlled. conditions.under.which.plants.were.typically.propagated.. Data.gathered.from.observations.made.during.experimentation. were. evaluated. using. statistical. analysis. to. ascertain.the.effectiveness.of.each.treatment.at.improving.plant. propagation.rates.or.correcting.specific.problems.associated.with.propagation.
