The SQA World – An Overview
Daniel Galin · 2018
This overview of today's software quality assurance (SQA) world first focuses on SQA definitions and concepts, software quality factors and the challenges in SQA implementation. It discusses the components involved in SQA process implementation: establishing SQA processes and their coordination with related software processes; SQA plan (SQAP) and project plan; preproject process; and cost of software quality. The chapter then focuses on product and process assurance activities aimed at evaluating the conformance of software products and processes and related documentation to contract requirements and relevant regulations and conventions. In addition, the three additional tools and methods that support development teams in their efforts to ensure the quality of their software processes and software products are discussed: templates and checklists; configuration management; and CASE tools and IDEs. Finally, the chapter presents basic software quality and software engineering topics that are closely related to SQA.
