Trimming the European soil

Following Dr L Jansen's review of the first five years of the European Physical Society ( Physics Bulletin February 1974 p53) the President of the EPS, H B G Casimir, has now put pen to paper and reviewed the society's current state and prospects for the next year or so. Writing in the most recent issue of Europhysics News he looks forward to the year with a confidence based as much on cautious optimism as on the belief that recent steps taken to put the EPS house in order will have the desired effect of sorting out the society's unfortunate financial state.
