And so we have completed our survey and discussion of the co ding mechanisms, processes, and symbols that are of relevance to sensory theory. It certainly must have seemed to some readers that the parade of interesting experimental findings was never to end, in spite of the limited selection presented here. In fact, the list of experiments probably is never-ending in some practieal sense, for as the author of any book such as this can certify, more or less relevant new papers are published at a rate with whieh no reviewer can keep pace.
