Thoughts are constantly tumbling around in our heads. We hear them so often that we simply accept them as true and rarely stop to question or challenge them. Thought checking can be helpful, but sometimes our thoughts are very strong. We may find new information that challenge our ways of thinking, but still dismiss this as unimportant. Experiments can help us test whether our predictions and thoughts are always right and to discover what might happen if we did things differently. Whatever happens, the experiment will help adolescents discover how things can change. We often blame ourselves for things that go wrong and overlook some of the many other reasons why things happen. Surveys and searches can help adolescents check whether there might be different ways of understanding and thinking.
