Infrastructure Security in the Real World
Charles J. Brooks, Christopher Grow, Philip Craig, Donald Short · Cybersecurity · 2018
This chapter introduces infrastructure security scenarios in the real world. It describes the functions, categories, subcategories, and reference structure of the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) cybersecurity framework. The frameworks are divided into five functions: identify, protect, detect, respond, and recover that provide a top-level description of the cybersecurity development process. The chapter considers two specific cybersecurity scenarios in which the NIST Framework is applied in order to produce a cybersecurity solution that meets the desired objectives. In each case, the chapter provides specific subcategories to research, along with some guidance to help researcher to produce their solutions.
