The 2019 Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems is pleased to recognize Professor Edgar Sanchez-Sinencio for his life-long contributions and service to the global circuits and systems community.The recognition ceremony will be on Sunday August 4th from 3 to 5 pm US Central time.Dr. Sanchez-Sinencio has left an invaluable footprint on the circuits and systems community.His passion for learning is contagious, and he always motivates his students and colleagues to achieve academic and research excellence.Dr. Sanchez-Sinencio has made countless contributions to the circuits and systems community.He continues to be a prolific researcher with over 250 conference papers, over 230 Journal papers, over 15 book chapters, and 6 patents.Dr. Sanchez-Sinencio is a worldly researcher and educator.He was born in Mexico, completed his graduate studies in the United States of America, and has worked or taught courses/seminars in Japan, Mexico, the United States, Spain, Brazil and many other countries in Europe, Africa and Asia.He has advised 61 M.S. students and 56 Ph.D. students from over 15 countries.Dr. Sanchez-Sinencio leads by example and is a selfless team player.Most of his research and publications are not done in isolation and his research groups are able to achieve meaningful individual as well as team research goals.For example, his team managed to publish some of the most advanced early Bluetooth and Power Management systems result, while individual team members always achieved impressive block level metrics.One of the most admirable qualities of Dr. Edgar Sanchez-Sinencio is that he has made significant world-class contributions in multiple fields including Switched-Capacitor Circuits, Filters, Power Management and Energy Harvesting, RF and wireless circuits, Neural Networks, Medical Electronics, amplifier and transconductor design, and in several other fields.He has never been afraid to reinvent himself in a new field.He has never become complacent with his achievements in one research area.Fear of the unknown is not part of Dr. Edgar Sanchez-Sinencio's vocabulary.However, his most valuable quality is his commitment to those he loves.Over the years, Dr. Sanchez-Sinencio has become not only a mentor for his students but a friend -their home away from home.He truly embodies what it means to be a humble family man; he is a loyal husband, compassionate father, and genuine friend.Please join us in recognizing Dr. Sanchez-Sinencio for his innumerable contributions to our community.
