Sierra On-Line was initially On-Line Systems, started by Ken Williams in 1975 as a computer network consulting practice. Enthused by a text game the two had discovered, his wife Roberta convinced him to develop a game she had designed. Mystery House was released in 1980, becoming the first graphical adventure game.
