Decision Procedures
Aishwarya Gupta · 2020
Decision procedures in simple terms mean an algorithm or a procedure that helps in deciding that a problem will terminate with apt yes or no. It mainly focuses on real-world decidable problems which can represent through a model. It helps in determining the validity or satisfiability of a formula or any logic. In terms of distributed artificial intelligence, a decision procedure will be the part of every model which will be able to solve or find a solution for any problem which can be categorized into a true or false format or say yes or no value. It works simply on the logic of 0 or 1. An artificially intelligent system works solely on the basis of past experiences, current scenario and future scope. In this chapter, we focus on variances found in decision-making processes, about automated decision making, its scope, challenges, and applications. Areas such as automated decision-making processes, optimization theory, and AI and data-driven strategies can be upgraded by adding some extra insights of distributed intelligence into these types of decision-making systems.
