Small dish satellite services are currently of great interest to the business community and a number of research projects, of which Universe is one, are looking into aspects of their use. The aim of the Universities Expanded Ring and Satellite Experiment is specifically to demonstrate how high speed communications between computers at widely separated sites may be achieved.
