Marconi Radar Systems Limited (MRSL) began keeping a watching brie f on Ada developments in 1980 .In the autumn of 1984 it was decide d to prepare the company for the transition from CORAL to Ada as it s main high-level programming language for producing large, comple x real-time software .The principal means of effecting thi s transition would be a two-year, three-phase "Introduction of Ada " project .The principal objectives of the Introduction of Ada project are t o provide MRSL with a nucleus of staff experienced in the use of Ada , and to recommend a standard framework for developing Ada software a t MRSL .The framework would be tested within the project by using i t to produce a non-trivial Ada system .
