Sequential correlation

Kevin S. Schweiker, Michael J. Mayercik · Proceedings of SPIE, the International Society for Optical Engineering/Proceedings of SPIE · 2001

A technique is presented, based upon the sequential test of hypotheses, which combine the classical target recognition tasks of detection, classification and aimpoint selection into one operation. This technique exploits the fact that a sequential test of hypotheses converges, on the average, faster than a test of hypotheses based on a fixed number of samples. Results of this technique are illustrated with synthetic laser range images.
