Applying sensors to automatic assembly systems
James Cook · 2003
The classes of sensors available for automatic assembly machines are described. Examples of each class of sensor along with a discussion of their specific benefits and problems are included. Guidelines are provided to aid a machine designer in the selection and application of sensors for automatic assembly systems. The necessity of incorporating an automatic calibration check system for verifying sensors' accuracy is discussed.>
