Du Pont Opens Akron Rubber Lab

A STAFF REPORT A MODERN, fully equipped laboratory offering complete technical service to rubber manufacturers of the middlewest was formally opened in Akron on Nov. 22 by the Du Pont Co. Throughout trie day the company was host to many visitors. The newly installed equipment was demonstrated, with considerable attention being given to the laboratory demonstrations of rubber manufacturing methods involving the use of rubber latex. In trie evening a dinner was given by trie Du Pont Co. for the Akron Rubber Group. At the dinner, C. J. Mighton, manager of the new laboratory, discussed, new outlets for rubber through latex. In discussing the advent of synthetic latices lie stated that they may be so tailored as to enable the processor to use fabricating methods that would not be adaptable to the natural product.
