In this chapter we will explore JavaScript from top to bottom. To start with, we shall explore the origins of the JavaScript language, before going over the language from first principles until we arrive at object-based concepts. By then, we shall have learned enough to build some quite sophisticated scripts and run them in a browser. We will cover browser extensions in Chapter 4 .
