Privacy campaigners win landmark rulings over biometric tech

Biometric technology implementations have faced successful challenges on privacy grounds. In the US a privacy group has won a court ruling that the FBI's facial recognition database should be open to scrutiny from open government advocates because of the size and scope of the surveillance technology.
