Towards a more general Propp-Wilson algorithm: Multistage backward coupling
Xiao-Li Meng · 2000
A multistage implementation of Propp and Wilson's backward coupling scheme is proposed via cluster sampling, which can help reduce the time to coalescence. A random walk example is used to illustrate the multistage generalization and to compare it with Propp and Wilson's single-stage scheme. The use of backward cluster sampling is also proposed for stratified
