The goals of this project are the goals of the E989 experiment, the new muon g-2 experiment at Fermilab. This experiment will measure the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon with a precision of 0.14 parts-per-million, a factor of four improvement over the previous experimental measurement. The initial proposal envisioned significant contribution to the design, construction, and commissioning of the straw tube tracking system. Significant contributions were made to the design and commissioning, while the bulk of the construction was shifted to other collaborating institutions. Additional scope was undertaken, with the NIU group having primary responsibility for the assembly and commissioning of the experiment’s slow controls system.
