In the originally published version of this manuscript, several errors were introduced during the production process outside the control of the authors. These errors are listed in this erratum. In two sentences, the term “F” was incorrectly dropped from sentences. In the Methods section, subsection ‘Summary statistics’, in the second paragraph, the sentence should read “Therefore, the deviation of SSB, F, and catch from their MSY reference point can be used:” and in the Results section, subsection ‘Fitness function explorations’, the sentence in the last paragraph should read “The SSB, F and catch moved closer to the MSY reference points and reached this state earlier, and risk and ICV were reduced.” In two sentences, references were wrongly displayed as parenthetical citations instead of in-text citations. In the Methods section, subsection ‘Current ICES management’, in paragraph two, the sentence should read “This parameterization of the precautionary buffer is based on an MSE evaluation conducted by ICES (2017c) in which various sizes and intervals for the application of the precautionary buffer were tested depending on the stock status evaluated by the SPiCT assessments.”, and in paragraph three “In the present study, the stock status evaluation was approximated based on the pooled sensitivity of these SPiCT assessments run by ICES (2017c).” In the Methods section, subsection ‘Scenarios’, point (1), the reference was incorrectly displayed outside the parentheses, and the sentence should read “(1) Fitness function explorations. Pollack (pol, Pollachius pollachius) was chosen as a typical example stock (k=0.19 year-1 , a medium value within the range for which the rfb-rule performed reasonably; Fischer et al., 2020) to test the influence of different formulations of the fitness function and fishing histories.” In the eleventh paragraph of the Discussion section, there was a typographical error in the sentence, “Therefore, it is implausible to attempt to run these simulations on personal computers, and instead a high-erformance computing (HPC) cluster with massive parallelization techniques was utilized.” The correct sentence is: “Therefore, it is implausible to attempt to run these simulations on personal computers, and instead a high-performance computing (HPC) cluster with massive parallelization techniques was utilized.” These errors have been corrected online and the publisher wishes to apologize for these errors.
