B.Aviation expanding-As indicated in the development of commercial flying in this country it is pointed out that airplane engines used 3,300,000 gallons of gasoline in 1926 compared with approximately 35,000,000 gallons in 1930.The mileage flown is 23,000,000 in 1926 and 300,000,000 in 1930.More than 3,000 miles of additional airways will be lighted in 1931; 33 new radio beacons will be established; 2,800 miles of new automatic telegraph-typewriter circuits will be opened and 20 more radio communicating plants will be installed.Upon the completion of the 1931 program, according to a statement of the aeronautics section of the Department of Commerce, there scarcely will be a square mile of area in the United States in which a pilot cannot receive broadcasts of weather information in flight.-TopekaState Journal.The meteorological library of the late Prof.
