PITO: Mission accomplished?

The UK’s Police Information Technology Organisation (PITO) sponsored a fact finding mission to the USA at the end of 2001. It was designed to understand the latest thinking in the US law and enforcement sector, to build new relationships and to promote the UK’s biometrics industry. The following article describes the mission and its outcome, and highlights the very different business environment that exists in the US compared with the UK.
