This article consists of a collection of slides from the author's conference presentation on SwitchX, a virtual protocol interconnect (VPI) product from Mellanox Technologies. Some of the specific topics discussed include: an overview of the SwitchX architecture and supported applications; performance capabilities and applications supported; Ethernet switching performance; converged I/O solutions; virtualization technqiues; system management facilities; queuing and scheduling capabilities; and description of the Mellanox system.
