Theory and computations of some inverse eigenvalue problems for the quadratic pencil

The paper reviews, both from theoretical and computational view points, current developments on the partial modal approach for certain inverse eigenvalue problems for the quadratic pencil associated with a linear control system modeled by a system of matrix second-order differential equations. The paper concludes with some future research problems.
