In 2015, after nearly three decades in New York's Union Square, Foundation Center's headquarters moved to an exciting new space in the Financial District.Filled with light and designed on an entirely open plan, those offices reflect what Foundation Center has become: A collaborative, high-tech, and high-touch organization dedicated to the mission of strengthening the social sector by advancing knowledge about philanthropy in the U.S. and around the world.Through a network consisting of hundreds of web properties and affiliate organizations, more than six million people use our services every year live and online -99.7 percent of them do so for free.But beyond free, Foundation Center today is also an organization that is open. OPEN TO SERVE YOUOur new headquarters features a bright, public collaboration space where nonprofit professionals, job seekers, researchers, and consultants can access our databases of foundation grants and library of critical resources, get advice from our staff members, attend training courses and special events, or meet with their colleagues to plan how they can make a better world.But that is only the beginning; Foundation Center is present in locations across the nation and eleven countries through its Funding Information Network of more than 450 public libraries, community foundations, and other local institutions that carry our premier prospect research tool -Foundation Directory Online -and other resources for free, public access.And for those who can't make it to any of these physical facilities, Foundation Center runs a 24-hour "Ask Us" service where anyone can chat with one of our staff to get their questions answered.
