Conditional Access System Interoperability Through Software Downloading

Software downloading of interoperable program code like Java opens up new opportunities for interoperability between conditional access (CA) systems and Set-Top Boxes. This paper describes how software downloading can be used in addition to (and instead of) current solutions for CA-system STB interoperability.
