With deregulation and competition, new technologies are being introduced into the telephone network at an accelerating pace and will affect both the economic and regulatory aspects of the industry. The technologies will offer new flexibility, ease of use, and functionality. The future communications network now evolving will allow users to tailor cost-effective communications solutions to specific applications.
