To demonstrate the accuracy of the methods developed for the stress, stability and frequency analyses-and to learn more about 3-dimensional behaviour-a series of tests on small-scale models of 10-storey buildings (Fig. 10.1) was carried out at the Building Research Establishment*. It was also the aim of the tests to examine the effect of storey-high columns on the global lateral and torsional stiffness of multistorey structures.
