Children are fascinated by nature and exhibit such boisterous enthusiasm it is sometimes perceived as an annoyance. If this curiosity is not attended to, it will fade. The same students who were once collecting bugs and gazing at constellations regard chemistry as "dull, sterile, and antiseptically arrogant." How does the chemistry instructor recapture their interest?
