Persistent Data

Simply put, persistence is the ability to save data to disk. My philosophy with regard to persistent data in game programming is that you should minimize your effort in this area. You really do not want to spend a lot of energy optimizing and tweaking in this department. Your game players are not going to really care that much about your data formats or even your disk storage efficiency. They will care a lot, however, about more visible aspects such as your sprite behaviors and the user interface. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
