Testing with Spring Web Flow
Apress eBooks · 2009
The previous chapter talked about driving flow executions from inside a deployed web application. There is another important execution environment to consider however: the test environment. No modern framework can ignore the need for unit testing. Spring Web Flow facilitates testing in several different ways: By abstracting away the details of the runtime environment behind an ExternalContext interface, Spring Web Flow makes it easy to test outside the container (Servlet engine or application server). Special support classes help you test Spring Web Flow-specific artifacts, such as Action implementations, in isolation. Spring Web Flow flow execution tests provide an innovative way of doing integration tests. They allow you to drive a flow execution from inside a JUnit test.
