Chapter 2: Basic Concepts and Properties

In this chapter we shall present some basic concepts and properties of sparse solutions and sensing matrices. In particular, we shall introduce null space properties, mutual coherence, the restricted isometry property, and completely full rankness of rectangular matrices. In addition, we shall discuss some properties of noisy sensing matrices.
