Welcome to the Tenth IEEE and ACM International Symposium on Mixed and Augmented Reality (ISMAR 2011)! We are especially proud that this year's symposium is being held in Basel, in the center of Europe. Augmented Reality is indeed now attracting the attention of a large audience and of industry. Our industry panel will address the current breakthrough of Augmented Reality and identify the success factors for Augmented Reality business models. Our three keynote speakers: Oliver Grau, an art historian and media theorist, Mark Bolas, a research scientist, an artist, and a designer exploring perception and intelligence, and Adrian David Cheok, a research scientist focusing on mixed reality, HCI, wearable computers and ubiquitous computing, will approach the subject of Mixed and Augmented Reality and its boundaries from different and surprising angles.
