The accuracy of software defect density prediction models is seriously threatened by extremely elevated levels of data sparsity and uncertainty. The proposed defect density model is less sensitive to sparse data and can reduce the uncertainty associated with attribute measurement. Statistical regression techniques can harm the accuracy of defect density predictions.
