A major step forward for exploiting the technology of ‘Cambridge Rings’ was announced recently in the annual report of the Computer Board and the Research Councils' Joint Network Team (JNT). This was the agreement that has been reached on standards for the technology of the Rings–which it is hoped will eventually become a British Standard.
