INTRODUCTION How does our lexical system encode morphological information and how does it recognize or produce morphologically complex lexical forms? Can forms like walked and went be considered to belong to the same type of morphological process or is the nature of the representation for each of these two lexical forms so distinct as to require different types of processing?
