Plug-in solutions

Pete Draper · 2013

Even though this book is designed to get you to use your knowledge gained in the Analysis sections in areas of 3ds Max in a way in which you may have not done so before so that we did not have to use a plug-in, there will come a time where you will have to either get your hands dirty and either code a script or plug-in yourself to do the job, or purchase one of the excellent off-the-shelf plug-ins. Here I have mentioned but a few of the plug-ins and third party solutions that are out there; bear in mind that due to the production time of this book some additional plug-ins may be released and/or some withdrawn between the time I wrote this (Xmas 2005) to the time you are reading it. I have also only mentioned products that are currently available to be licensed and not in-house developments as these are often kept close to the studio’s chest! There are also several freeware and open source projects out there which give excellent terrain generation and mesh output for importing into 3ds Max.
