For the current edition, there are two versions of the QtsPlus software: Excel and OpenOffice.The Excel version is available for Excel 97 and above.The OpenOffice version is supported by OpenOffice l.l.x and above.Instructions for downloading the software are found at the end of the appendix.The software is organized into eight categories based on model type, for example, single-server models or multi server models.When loaded properly, a menu comes up that allows the user to select a particular model in a category.Figure E.I is an example of the menu in the Excel version (the OpenOffice version is virtually identical).To run a model, first open the QtsPlus.xlsworkbook (OpenOffice: open Qt-sPlus4Calc.sxc).For example, to run the M/G/c/c Pure Overflow Model, select the Multi-Server entry from the combobox.From the resulting list, select the M / G / c / c model and press the Run Model button or double-click the model name in the list.A workbook will appear for the model with explanation and/or instructions at the top, if necessary.To solve a particular instance of a model, change the INPUT PARAMETERS as desired, and the spreadsheet automatically calculates new RESULTS(output measures of performance).As an illustration, suppose we desire to run a case Fundamentals of Queueing Theory, Fourth Edition.
