From a consideration o f Eqs. (11.4) and (11.6) it follows that for perfect hydraulic similarity the number must be the same for both prototype and model. No other conclusion could in fact be reached, since it is inconceivable that the resultant forces could be similar but not the components - otherwise there would be some discrepancy evident in the two flow patterns.
