Search Heuristics

Given the NP-complete aspect of constraint satisfaction problems (CSPs) and their extensions, despite the numerous techniques proposed within this framework, this chapter explores other directions for speeding up the resolution. The first direction is based on the search-space organization (parallel or numerous distributed search). The second direction is heuristics based on the instantiation order according to variables or values or even constraints.
