This chapter discusses the notion of machine physicalism and its role in the cultural sphere. The physical world consists of physical parts and particulars that are fundamental to mental life in the cultural sphere. Machine physicalism refers to the information production from computation. Machine physicalism underscores the functional role of computation across possible worlds. The computation of minds and machines contributes to the production of parts and particulars in the cultural sphere. Machine physicalism details the parts and properties of the physical system that perform computation at the cultural level as an organized system.
